Sandals constructed partly or entirely out of old car tires are found all over the world. Recycling in its optimal form. In rural areas the uppers are made of straps of car tire rubber thus facilitating the wearer's crossing of rivers and wade places. Sometimes the uppers are decorated with colourful pom-poms. This type of footwear is one of the most economical: cheap and with a very high durability.
