Morocco - Joseph Azagury - Buckled platform pump design - winter 2003
Joseph Azagury was born in 1958 in Casablanca-Morocco and moved with his family to London in the early sixties. He learned the footwear trade while selling shoes in Rayne department of Harrod's in London. He briefly attended Corwainer's College in London and worked all over the world before setting up his own shop in London in 1991. He is a celebrated shoe designer, known for offering handmade shoes, especially simple sensual sandals with flowing lines, at accessible prices. He is the brother of famous couturier Jacques Azagury, while his sister Elizabeth heads Azagury Fleurs as an exclusive floristry business, all in London's Knightsbridge. |
